Ubisoft Montreal realises an unprecedented feat with the release of Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and Shape Up!

Montreal, November 7, 2014 – In November, the video-game developing studio Ubisoft Montreal will become the first studio to launch three games for new-generation consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4), of which two are AAA mega-productions, within days of one another. These games are Assassin’s Creed Unity (ACU), Shape Up (both launching on November 11), and Far Cry 4 (FC4) (launching on November 18). To mark this event, M. Yannis Mallat, President and CEO of Ubisoft Montreal, opened the doors of the studio to media representatives to present all the innovations and expertise required to accomplish this feat.

Because of its creative and technological strengths, which have allowed it to produce several mega-productions at the same time, Ubisoft Montreal is in a class of its own. To launch these games, a production workforce of 1000 employees scattered among 25 different jobs was needed. All these efforts have contributed to ACU and FC4 being among the top 3 most anticipated games of the year.

“I am very proud of what we have accomplished. Today’s announcement is the result of a great determination by our teams, which invest a lot of effort in order to give players memorable experiences. Once again, we have demonstrated our capacity to lead many big projects at once that are all unique opportunities to make the talent of our employees shine around the world. To be the first studio in the world to launch three new-generation-console games, including Assassin’s Creed Unity, which is exclusively on them, in such a short period is the undeniable proof of our position as a global leader in the video-game industry,” declared M. Mallat.

During their visit, reporters met with different developers who were involved in ACU, FC4 and Shape Up. They also discovered all the studio assets that allowed Ubisoft Montreal to produce AAA games with all the details essential to their success.

In addition to these three games, Ubisoft Montreal also launched Child of Light and Watch_Dogs, also games for new-generation consoles, earlier this year. With these five games, the Ubisoft group will have its best quarter so far, mainly because of its Montreal studio.
