Nintendo of Canada invites Toronto fans to celebrate all things Pokémon at Canada’s Pokémon Video Game Event on Saturday, November 8th in anticipation of the upcoming launches of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Canada’s Pokémon Video Game Event, to be held at the Bloor HotDocs Cinema from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., will give fans young and old an opportunity to try their hands at these latest installments in the Pokémon franchise.  A free download code for a special demo version of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will also be given out so guests can perfect their game play at home.

Other activities on-site will include photos with Pikachu, themed face painting and Pokémon Art Academy demo stations.  Fans are encouraged to bring their Nintendo 3DS or 2DS to StreetPass and SpotPass with other Pokémon fans.

The first 650 guests will also be invited to stay and watch a 2:30 p.m. screening of Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are launching on November 21 and enable players to take flight on brand new adventures, soaring high above a vast and wondrous region as they seek out the most powerful Pokémon ever.  New and returning players will also enjoy the games’ entirely new storylines, features and 3D look as they delve deeper into the mysterious origins of Pokémon Mega Evolutions.
