After the strong showing Strike Suit Zero had at PAX Prime ’12, we wanted to reach out to update you the latest developments from the creators, Born Ready Games.

Today, Born Ready has fired up a Kickstarter campaign, with the goal of bringing back the long dormant “space combat” genre. The money raised via Kickstarter will be used to allow the team to spend extra development time on Strike Suit Zero in order to optimize the game and add additional features in order to deliver the best experience possible when it’s released.

In addition to naming every backer in the credits posted at http://strikesuitzero.com, Kickstarter supporters will be provided with a variety of unique rewards. Depending on their pledge level, backers will receive the game bundled with a selection of extras including a Kickstarter exclusive art book, wallpapers, the soundtrack and additional in-game content. Signed posters, clothing, paintings and figurines will also be offered.

At the highest level, there is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for two backers to collaborate with Junji Okubo (mecha designer on Appleseed Ex Machina, Steel Battalion) to bring their very own giant robot dreams to life. Not only will Okubo work with the backers to create a new giant robot, but said mecha will then be brought into the real world as a 3D-printed model.
