Give me Night or Give me Blucher - Scourge of War: Waterloo is coming on June 11th!
"The hardest thing of all for a soldier is to retreat." (Duke of Wellington - British commander and statesman)
Arlington, VT, January 12 , 2015. - After a long love affair with the Confederate and Union armies, the Scourge of War series is breaking away from the American Civil War setting. In this year of the Battle of Waterloo bicentenary anniversary, developer NorbSoft is undertaking the massive task of giving wargamers their first chance to play the whole final showdown of the War of the Seventh Coalition in Scourge of War: Waterloo!
Following in the footsteps of the previous games, Waterloo will integrate the chain of command mechanics that are a signature feature of the series. Contrary to most strategy games out there, Scourge of War: Waterloo not only puts players at the top of the chain of command but also allows them to play at a lower rank.
As a result players are not always almighty commanders, but also have to deal with orders coming from their superiors while finding an effective way to maneuver their own units by sending couriers. Communication and coordination were a challenge in this period of history, and Scourge of War: Waterloo simulates these difficulties with incredible accuracy!
With 20 historical scenarios, an unlimited user generated sandbox scenario system and multiplayer maps; Scourge of War: Waterloo offers giant battles involving thousands of soldiers ready to fight for the glory of France or for the members of the Seventh Coalition. Thanks to in-depth research, the game includes historical unit names, weapons, leaders and formations of this dramatic final encounter between Napoleon and his opponents.
Today it’s also time to unveil that the most detailed game about the Battle of Waterloo will be released on June 11th! So watch out for more details and get ready for the release!
Also tomorrow, on May 06th, 20.00 (CEST), we are going to give players a sneak peek of the game on the official Twitch channel of the Slitherine Group!
