Sovereignty is going to enter Steam Early Access program

Epsom, UK - March 31, 2015 - After decades of deceptive harmony, Humans, Dwarves, Orks and all of the factions of Sovereignty are looking askance at their neighbors. The balance of power is blurred now, and even the strongest clans live under constant fear of seeing invaders rampaging across their frontiers. The moment has come to identify powerful allies and sharpen the blades because hard times are coming…

Today we are excited to announce that Sovereignty will enter Steam Early Access on April the 9th! As this epic fantasy strategy game is rather different from the games we’re used to publishing here at Slitherine, we thought that the community would be the best people to help us to produce exactly what they want.

The team sees Early Access as a unique opportunity to gather relevant feedback and enhance the game accordingly. Sovereignty has been in development for 3 years now, so the content provided is already very rich and players can have a complete playthrough with all of the realms and campaigns available!

However balancing 35 kingdoms with multiple races, unit types, political and economic features is not an easy task. Aside from the polishing part, the developers will also review internally all of the comments posted by the players and identify the best suggestions to make Sovereignty a landmark in the fantasy world on PC!

“We have used Early Access programs before and our experience is telling us Sovereignty is the best suited project for it”, said Iain McNeil, Development Director of Slitherine. “We need to consult with the players on such a complex and ambitious project in a way that goes beyond simple beta testing. Gothic Labs and The Lordz Games Studio as the developers, and us as the publisher, need extra help to make this game what we want it to be and it’s all about a joint effort with the community of players out there”.

Players can have already a good overview of what the game aims to offer thanks to this video presentation and a live session on Twitch, on April the 1st.
